First Week at the MTC

Elder Matthew William Conover:  Japan Sapporo Mission
Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints

January 29, 2016

Here's some excerpts from Elder Matthew Conover's first letters:

I am loving things here at the MTC. My companion is Elder Hess or Hess Choro. He is a G! He is very similar to Nathan Farnsworth, but still very different. He is very good at japanese. He came to the mtc for five weeks a year ago, and then went home because of several family emergencies, but he's really good because of those five weeks last year. He helps me a lot, and is so patient when I need to hear a word like 10 times. He is awesome. I Love learning Japanese! It is so awesome! The sempai(junior high age aka:Missionaries who have been here for 5 weeks) Are better at Japanese then kids who have taken 5+ years in school, that's what a kid in our district who took two years in college, before he came said! It's crazy! I love you all so much! The food here is great! I am a little bit sick, but hopefully will get better fast. I am sending pictures, but have to send them in multiple emails.
This good-bye was extra hard

Love you all, Conover Choro

I will write more about our district next week, but they are all awesome! They are quite the characters, most of them are a little older, and wiser. Oh I also got called as district leader over the 6 choros and 4 shimai in our district! So that's exciting and a little bit scary! That happened last night. I love you! (I may be able to check email again at 5:50, if you happen to be able to respond before then:)). I will get my Ipad next friday probably, and will be able to read your emails as they come! I Love you!

Love, Choro Conover

**If you're local, it costs just $3 for same day delivery of packages to the MTC as long as it's dropped off by 3pm weekdays, 10am Saturdays. If you'd like to send him anything during the next 8 weeks, I'd be happy to take it for you or you can drop it off at PostMart.
