Are we on Satan's or God's team?

July 10, 2016

My dear family and friends,
This has been a really great week! I learned a lot. We were able to do
exchanges with the ZL's this week, because my comp. is District
leader. I sadly was not able to go on splits with my Grandpa, Elder
Burch! (My trainer's trainer) but it was actually super awesome to go
on splits with Elder Whitmer (He more than likely has the best
Japanese in the mission.) It was a really awesome time. We taught so
many people on that day, we were working in my area! It was super fun!
I love working with other missionaries. We had a really good time
staying at their apartment for two nights. It was awesome to talk to
Elder Burch, and be able to hangout with him. Oh last Pday after we
finished Emailing, we were able to go shopping at my first real
Japanese clothing store!! It was very similar to Banana republic, but
much cheaper, and had different "Japaneseish" styles. It was really
awesome! I bought some really awesome things, and it was all really
cheap! I'll send some pics. The shirt was 13$ the longer shorts were
7$ (Those are awesome, because they are way Japanese style) and then
the matching shorts, which are like tennis shorts(!) were only 5$
each!!!! It was awesome! All of those things were on sale too, which
was nice. After we finished shopping there, we were able to go and get
new pans for the apartment, which we greatly needed! So that has been
way awesome! Also included in the picture with the two pairs of
shorts, is a hockey stick!! One of my favorite less active members
gave that to me this week! It was a hockey stick that has some sort of
relation (Probably a practice stick) to the Winter Olympics, in
Sapporo a long time ago! It is a very old stick! It is so cool!! (If
anybody wants to look up some of those words on the stick, and see if
there is anything especially cool about the edition or something, and
let me know, that would be cool.)

We did a ton of really good missionary work this week! We taught more
lessons than I have in this area yet! We have been really focusing on
teaching the gospel at every opportunity possible, and it has really
made a difference in helping our investigators, but also especially
our less actives to progress! It is awesome! I really love being a
missionary. It is true that more often than not I am emotionally
unstable, and go from emotion to emotion faster than an 8th grade
girl, (if you are in 8th grade and are a girl, I may somewhat be able
to relate to you, so send me an email.;)) But despite all the ups and
the downs, the hopes the dreams, and the disappointments and
discouragements, I know that I am being guided by God's hand. I know
that God is real in this work. I know that as missionaries we are on
the front lines of God's army. I know that we have the power from God
to crush Satan's head under our heel. I know that the power of God is
infinite, and that through righteous humble Faith and Prayer, we can
call upon the power of God, and we can work miracles through the
Priesthood Authority, that we hold. I think that I far too often
forget the magnitude of the Authority that I hold. We priesthood
holders have the same Priesthood authority that Christ has. We have
the same Priesthood that President Monson has. We hold the Authority,
but do we live worthy of the Power? Do we repent daily, and
consistently live true to the principles of the gospel upon which our
conversion is found? Do we strive to follow the promptings of the
spirit, and always show God that we are prepared to follow the most
subtle of promptings? Are we a powerful servant of the Lord? Do we
show the Lord how much we value His Priesthood? I challenge myself,
and you to focus on, and increase your Priesthood power. If you are a
woman, then you can still increase your ability to receive the power
of God through your husband or Father. You can support, and sustain
the priesthood authority of your husband and Father, and you can also
support the Prophets and leadership of the Church. The blessings of
priesthood power are promised to everyone, and they are solely based
upon faith and righteous dedication to following God's commandments.

I love you all so much, and deeply hope that each and every one of you
are reading the scriptures, pondering over them, and learning from
them each and every day. I hope that you are praying, and that you are
sincerely talking to your Heavenly Father. I know that these are the
things that will save us in the last day. Faith that is built upon the
Rock of Christ, which is developed through those things, is the only
thing that will save us when the storms and the whirlwinds of Satan's
influence try to destroy us. Don't let Satan win.

Love,
コノバー長老
Elder Conover
