God's love.

August 31, 2016

Hello my dear Family and friends,

First off sorry for the two days of appearing to be dead. We had our
Pday moved to today, because we got to (the elders in my zone) go to
the temple today!!! It was such an amazing experience to be able to be
in the temple again. I want to testify of God's love. He loves us all
so individually and so perfectly. God's love is so real, and can be
felt so strongly in his house.

This last week and a couple days have been some of the greatest of my
mission. I know that God lives. We have truly seen miracles. I
completely broke my bike derailleur going up a super steep hill with
no momentum in the lowest gears. But then I stopped, we said a prayer,
and had to walk for a little while, but then took it to a bike shop
that we knew the owner of, and he told us that he had some old parts
that might work. We came back 4 hours later, and my bike had a new
derailleur that was a better model, and that runs smoother than the
one before the incident! But then the miracle was that when I asked
how much money, he said just 20 bucks, despite the fact that the
cheapest that replacement could ever be in any normal situation is at
least 130$. But the greatest part of that situation is that I had just
two days earlier before my bike had broke, I had given another bike,
(that I had bought for 10$, with some intent to sell for him, but he
really said whatever happens is fine) to a member in another ward,
that the mission president had asked if any missionaries had two
bikes, one of which they could give to this young man, who has no
money, and one of his parents died, and it is a really bad situation,
and he needed a bike. I had that extra bike, and so I gave it, hoping
that my own bike wouldn't have any issues, but then two days later, it
looked completely hopeless when I had this incident, but then God
really watched out for me, by allowing the miracle of it being fixed
for 20 dollars to occur! I feel so blessed, and watched over!!

I would like to share this experience from this last week:
Today was seriously a day of miracles. First of all we had an awesome
DTM, where we really felt the spirit and set the goal of seeing 12
baptisms by the end of October. We really felt that we can accomplish
it, and I know absolutely that we can, if we do not doubt God, and if
we work our very hardest. The miracle of the day was this: We had an
appointment with Takahashi San at his house, and the day before we had
received a text from him, telling us that September 4th, the day that
was his day off, he now had to work on. We were pretty bummed and
stressed, because it really would be so much better for him to be able
to baptized on his set date Sept. 10th. His faith is so high right
now, and it would not be good for him to have to wait longer, which is
why we already got special permission from President Nakatsuka to let
him come to church only twice before he gets baptized. So we go to his
house, and talk with him, and I ask him about how he knows that our
message is true, and he shared his testimony with me, we shared a
video about the Book of Mormon and how it can help us in our lives,
and then he brought up the problem. We started talking about it, and
tried to find a way to work it out. We tried lots of different
approaches, anywhere from quitting his job, to just getting an hour
off of work so that he could come to sacrament meeting in the middle
of his working hours "Take lunch early", or something of the sort. I
talked about how in America we can try to ask our employers to let us
not work on Sunday's, and explain our beliefs to them, and that our
bosses are usually pretty understanding. He told me that that sounded
awesome, but that here that doesn't fly at all. Dang. But then he said
that it wasn't that he was for sure working, but that his boss had
told him that he might have to work, instead of it being a definite
day off, the way that it was before. We clarified, and found out that
by the next day he would receive word as to whether or not he would
actually have to work or not. I figured that this was a good reason to
fast for him, and to really show him that God is a God of miracles. We
told him that we would fast for him to not have to work on Sunday, and
I felt 100% sure that he was not going to have to work, and I told him
that I didn't have a single doubt or worry about whether or not he
would be able to come to church on that day. It was a powerful moment,
and I was really happy to know that we were acting in the Lord's hand,
being guided by the spirit. We prayed and asked God to help us, and to
give him that Sunday off of work. We left and called President,
because in our mission you have to get permission to fast, so we
called, and he gave us permission, and then no less than 5 minutes
later the miracle came. Takahashi San sent us a text saying that this
work had called, and he does not have to work on that Sunday!!! He
said that just after we left, he received the call saying that he
would not need to work. He can now still be baptized on the 10th! This
experience truly strengthened my faith. I know that God loves us, and
is watching over us. I know that God is truly a God of Miracles, and I
have seen that so much more clearly on my mission. We have an amazing
Father in heaven, who truly does care and want us to return to him so
greatly.

I love you all so much, and I am sorry that this email is so
scattered, I did not have a full hour of email this week, because of
the temple and stuff. I Know 100 percent that this is the Church of
God. I have felt God's love, and I know that we can be forgiven of our
sins, big or small. I know that God love's you. God is a God of
Miracles, trust in him.
Love,
