Change

September 12, 2016

This last week has been fantastic! I love missionary life so much!! I
am so grateful to be able to be here at this time, and I cannot
believe how fast this last transfer just went. We receive transfer
calls tomorrow!! It has come so fast! I hope that nothing will change,
but we shall see! The mission is the greatest place for growth, which
is something I love. I have grown so much, and have changed so much
since I started my mission. When we focus on others instead of
ourselves, we are able to find true happiness. We must step outside of
ourselves, as the Savior did, and give of ourself to others. The key
to change is love. If we want someone to change they must feel our
love, and they must want to change, because of the love that is in the
relationship. Satan works through pride, and self-focus. We do not
actually become happy solely based one personal success. We are
happiest when we are making others happy, and try to please God. This
is our purpose. The most selfish-focused people, are often the least
happy. I know that Christ is the way. Through Christ we can change and
become prepared to meet God. I believe in change. Do not think that
you cannot change, because that is simply wrong. Because of the Power
of the Atonement, that is wrong.

I had the humbling, special opportunity to baptize our amazing
investigator, Takahashi San yesterday. He has such strong faith, and
has truly been converted to the gospel. His faith has strengthened my
own so much, and I am so grateful for him. I truly love him so much.
He said that 1 month ago while my companion and I were talking about
the Book of Mormon, he felt the spirit, and really knew that it was
true. Prepared people really are there, and I know that when we work
our hardest, and really rely on the lord, and consecrate ourselves,
those people can be found, and can be taught, and come into the fold.
I am so grateful for the gospel. I love you all, and I know that God
loves you.

Love,
