Dear Family and Friends,
from....Toyohira!!! I actually received my transfer call to stay in
this area for yet another transfer!!! I feel very blessed. I will now
be here for my 6th transfer (This has only happened 1 other time in
the mission, and there was a reason why, but for me there is no
reason, everyone, including me, thought that I was gone!) But I am
truly overjoyed to be able to be in this area for another 6 weeks. I
am also happy and humbled to be the district leader of Toyohira
district, a district that is full of great missionaries, who really
want to serve the Lord with all their heart, mind, might, and
strength. I can't believe that I will actually be here for 9 months!
Very exciting.
I don't have very much time today, because we had our district
activity and spent too much time at round 1. At round 1 they have this
area where you can do all of these different sports, and ride a
mechanical bull, and even roller blade! We were able to play tennis,
soccer, basketball, hit some baseballs, play pool, and really had a
fun time. We have a really awesome district.
But the major thing that has happened since last week, is that the
investigator that I talked about last week, Torikiri kyoudai, has been
progressing rapidly! He came to family home evening at President's
home on Monday, came to English class on Wednesday, met with us on
Thursday where we were able to have a really great lesson with him
about the gospel of Jesus Christ! Faith, repentance, baptism, and
enduring to the End. He very willingly and excitedly accepted the
challenge to be baptized! We then met him on Saturday and went to
sports night in a neighboring area. He then came to church yesterday,
for all 3 hours, and really enjoyed it. He is such a trooper, and has
been trying to learn so much so fast that his head almost exploded
from thinking too hard! He is such a miracle, and makes me so happy. I
love watching him learn the gospel.
I am happy to be a missionary. I love the opportunity to serve, and
truly feel of God's love as I share His gospel to the world. I know
that God lives, and that he has a plan for us. I love you all, and I
pray that you will be strengthened by the atoning power of Jesus
Christ.
Love, Elder Conover

PS!!!!! The other huge miracle of the week was that My caterpillar 🐛,
that I caught back in August, and that Akamatsu choro and I called
"Poison", well poison became a cocoon, and then we all thought that he
died, but I kept on joking with Akamatsu choro that we just had to
have faith, but he didn't have any. It ended up breaking of it's nice
little branch, kind of getting thrown around a little in our balcony,
and then a couple months ago, I remembered it and took it inside and
put it on my desk, because I was going to save this cocoon, because
its not everyday you just have a cocoon. So I put the cocoon on my
desk, and it sat there laying down for a good couple months, and then
this last Thursday, We walked into our study room, and miraculously
there was a beautiful butterfly sitting on my desk!!!!! Best thing
ever!!!
