A new week

June 19, 2017

Dear Family and friends,
This week has been full of changes! First of all we had transfer calls
last Tuesday, and my two companions, Elder Kim, who had been here for
over 6 months, and Elder Bailey, who had been here for 3 short weeks,
both surprisingly transferred! So because they both left, we had 3 new
Elders transfer to this area. I have been district leader here, and
now they brought one other zone leader here, and made me zone leader.
They have split all the zone leaders in the whole mission, so zone
leaders are in the same apartment, but have younger companions, and
aren't comps with each other. So now because of all that, I have
become the longest one in the area, and am still district leader, as
well as now being zone leader. So lots of phone calls and
opportunities to serve and consecrate myself.

My new companion is Elder Jensen, he is from Idaho and has a really
pure desire to work hard and to do his best, so it is a blessing to be
companions with him for this 9 week transfer. He is transfer 7, so not
too young, but he is still working on Japanese. He also is really boss
at skiing, so that is really fun to talk about.

My zone leader comp. is Elder Stone, and he is from Salem Utah, from a
family of 11 kids. He is super funny, and a really nice guy. It is
really fun to be able to work with him. It is his last transfer, so he
will be back in America soon!

The last Elder in our apartment is Elder Fulbright. He is From Seattle
Washington, and is a really fun guy. I really like him. Super friendly
and loves missionary work. He is transfer 6, and really excited about
the work.

That is the layout of our apartment. I have changed my focus this
transfer from finding, to really focusing on and giving everything
that we can, "heart, mind, might, and strength" to the families that
we have found, and the investigators that we do have. We have people
who really are prepared, and who need to be led to the waters of
baptism, so I have felt that we need to really focus on them and do
everything that we can to help them. I love trying to seek God's will
in all things. We need, especially as missionaries, to seek to know
how God wants us to spend His time, every minute of everyday. I love
being a missionary, and I love serving God. This truly is God's work.

Our investigator Yokoishi, prayed for the first time with us on
Saturday. He is the Dad of the family that we are working the hardest
with to be baptized. He is really progressing a lot. We made a banana
cake, and origami hearts and dropped it off on their porch, and it was
a great experience, seeing how sometimes taking some time to do little
things for our investigators, to show them that we really do love
them, and to be "messengers of love" is something very important to do
as a missionary. I love learning, and I love working hard. I love you
all and I challenge you all to please see for missionary
opportunities. Yesterday I gave a talk in church, and also taught
Sunday school, and the theme was about missionary work. I felt really
strong when I was preparing that it really is true that when we,
especially as member missionaries, invite, we succeed, no matter the
outcome. I love this merciful principle that God has taught us.
Love,
コノバー長老
Elder Conover
